Redgate Park and Arboretum development
The city won a $1.5 million state stormwater conservation grant for Redgate Park improvements and the arboretum — design, paths, pedestrian bridges, benches and environmental education.
Youth town halls at community centers
Last term's Twinbrook town hall drew ~50 kids and surfaced mental health and teen programming gaps. The commission plans to finish the series at Lincoln Park (recently renovated with a new STEM lab) and Thomas Farm this year, and wants older students included.
Rockville Science Center displaced from its location
The Science Center lost its 306C Maryland Avenue lease and had to suspend summer camp registration; it's seeking 5,000 square feet of temporary space, 20,000 square feet long-term, and help with a $1 million fundraising campaign.
